1. Know the relationship between an increment of heat added, the temperature it is added at, and the resulting increment of entropy. Also be able to show that entropy is a state variable, unlike heat.
2. Explain the role of entropy in determining whether an isolated system is at equilibrium. Specifically, explain what the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics says about this relationship.
3. When considering heat conduction between two objects, explain the different roles played by the 1st Law (energy conservation) and the 2nd Law (maximization of entropy).
